Classes

Judy leads two groups at Stitcher's Crossing in Madison, Wi.

"QUILT SITTERS CIRCLE" meets six times a year on the second Tuesday of Jan, Mar, May, July, Sept and Nov. She offers a Tue afternoon group at 1:30pm, an evening group at 7 pm. Judy presents a quilt pattern at each meeting, showing the quilt design and explaining a handout that details directions for making each particular quilt. New products are highlighted and announcements of interest for quilters are given as well. This is followed by a "show and tell" of members projects which always proves to inspire the group.

"FOLK ART"  meets six times over the course of a year, with meetings on the third Wed. of Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct and Dec. An afternoon group will meet from 1-3:00pm and an evening group from 6-9:00pm.

FOLK ART   1:00 or 6:00 This "club" will begin Feb 15, 2012.   This year's club will feature a sampling of several different wool projects.  At the first meeting we will work on a satchel for carrying our projects, followed by a pillow, a trio of pincushions, a tablemat and a surprise or two.  All patterns will be designed by Judy and included in the class.

SHOOTING STAR     TUE, JAN 31   12:30-3:30

This innovative quilt by Laundry Basket Quilts is created with three dimensional "glowing" stars within another dresden-like larger star.  The pieces are cut with templates and the rotary cutter and machine sewn.  Although the design looks more complicated, it can be easily achieved using the techniques of this wonderful pattern.

TULIP TYME    Thr, Feb 2     12:30-3:30  or  5:30-8:30

Applique need not be a dirty word when it comes to WOOL!  Inspired by the rtwork of an antique marriage certificate, this small mat is the perfect project for those wanting to get started with wool applique.  Learn basics for getting your design traced onto the wool, tips for cutting and basting and then the stitches commonly used.

NEW YORK BEAUTY     Tu, Feb 7    1:00-4:00

A dramatic block of spikes and curves, this design was only for those of strong will and experience.  Paper piecing has revolutionized its creation and now anyobe can achieve it.

BUILDING LOG CABINS      Fri,

Judy will lead a crash course on how to make the log cabin block and some of it's variations.  Class will focus on making samples of several different blocks that can be included in a pattern Judy will include in class.  This is a timeless block with classic to contemporary offerings for every quilter.  If we were to die and go to heaven, this is the block you would want to take with you!   Come join Judy in the "construction zone".
