Quilt with Judy
Classes

"QUILT SITTERS CIRCLE" meets Jan 15th, Mar 12, May 14, July 9, Sept 10 and Nov 12.   Afternoon group at 1:30 and evening at 7pm.

New products are highlighted and announcements of interest for quilters are given as well. This is followed by a "show and tell" of members projects which always proves to inspire the group.

"WOOL FOLK ART"  meets six times over the course of a year, with meetings on  Wed., Feb 20, Apr 17, Jun 19, Aug 21, Oct 16 and Dec 11. An afternoon group will meet from 1pm and evening group at 6pm.

The theme for the year is 'A PENNY SAVED IS A PENNY EARNED'.  We will focus on making a penny rug/mat by the year's end, stitching pennies at each meeting.  The main project will be introduced the last portion of class.  Featured projects will be a table mat (a great companion piece to Judy's Bel Flora design), a crazy patch pillow (embellished with embroidery and optional appliqué), a winter oval mat, a small bag and a challenge project.

All patterns are included and designed by Judy.

POCKETBOOK QUILTING (English Paper piecing)   Thr, July 11   5:30-8:30 Join the "hexie" craze!   This hand sewn technique is the perfect summer project.  Tuck it into your pocketbook and take it with you to the beach, ballgame or to sit on the porch swing.  You can even teach the young people in your life this method of sewing hexagons around paper templates and then sewing them into different patterns.  Create your own project from the techniques learned.

BEYOUND SQUARES AND RECTANGLES   Tue, July 23   5:30-8:30

This is the second portion of Judy's Quilt Logic class.   Learn how to deal with half square and quarter square triangles.   How do you cut a loose triangle?  How do you use triangle paper?  What is a connector?   How do I determine the size to cut these triangles and when do I use a half sq versus a quarter cut triangle?   Once you understand these concepts, you will be on your way to designing your own patterns and make decisions on which technique best suits your needs.

CLASSIC FEATHERED STAR     Mon, Aug 5     5:30-9pm

This beautiful star block can look intimidating, but this class will remove any doubts you might have had.  The technique of making half square triangles with the bias method will be taught, cutting 45 degree diamonds and using a template.  This block easily can stand on it's own, as a wallhanging or medallion of a larger quilt.  Or, make multiple blocks and create a stunning quilt.
