Quilt with Judy
Retreats
Sievers School of Fiber Arts
Sievers Fiber
Arts School is located on Washington
Island, just off the tip of Door County. A car ferry brings you to
this charming, picturesque island. You will stay in either the school's
dorm or one of the island's motels, rentals or B&B's. Enjoy quilting
in the studio, equipped with tables, irons and ironing boards, design
walls and great lighting. Students typically work on the featured project
that Judy offers, but again ...you are welcome to work on your own
desired project. Being with other quilters and spending time on the
island is purely magic!

FRIENDSHIP SAMPLER
"Friendships Pieced Together, Through Distance and Time, Create a Meaningful Quilt of Our Lives".
This wonderful sentiment appeared on a tee shirt design by Mary Jo Scandin, well known Sievers artist and teacher. I have adapted the original design for quilters to applique, piece and stencil.
The pattern features appliqued sheep and waves, traditional piecing of a unique quilt block, houses and checkerboard, innovative/funky piecing of flowers, a block depicting yourself, leaves created from snippets of fabric that are "scribbled" over, machine embroidered stems and leaves and finally, the stenciling of the words.
This week of quilting will offer quilters an eclectic mix of techniques. You will surely enjoy spending time together, learning and enjoying the island as well! Join me if you can, to create another block in your quilt of life.
